Presentations/Teaching:

"Tech Push: Investing in Technology-led Innovation" 11 May, 2009 at the Katholische Universtität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, WWFi, School of
Management.

Vortrag "
Käuferverhalten und Marktforschung" 27 November, 2008 presentation at the Katholische Universtität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, WWFi,
School of Management.

Innovation Presentation at Eichstätt-Ingolstadt School of Business.  June, 2006. Part of my ongoing series of presentations about how to find
areas of innovation in commodity markets. The overview is in German. The presentation was really well-attended, despite the stifling heat
and semi-functional IT infrastructure...

Globalisation Presentation to The Entrepreneurial Group. Another presentation on how to find top line margin in global markets. This one
was given at
LMU in Munich. Supported by a case study showing how globalisation really functions as an optimal combination of best
practices, selected with consideration of logistics, investment in technologies and cultural knowledge/relevance. This is a great
presentation for groups interested in how to think about supply chains or create/optimize complete product development/marketing plans.

Stanford Product Design ME 204 Framebuilding Course in 2002 and 2003, with Ryan Connolly and Jed McCann.  This is a graduate-level
course in the Stanford Product Design curriculum! You can find several photos of me
brazing, welding, etc. on these sites.  My friends Ross
Shafer and Sean Walling have also conducted some of these seminars.

Lead Presenter at the Minnesota chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA)
Lake Superior Design Retreat in the winter of 2003. It
was mega-cold that weekend, but there was a really good group!

Miscellanei:

Titanium Comes of Age from Business Week Online by Adam Aston Very short comments from a long interview.  I used to build bicycle frames
from titanium, so acquired lots of experience cutting, welding and machining it!

A short
contribution about bicycle frame materials in Joe Parkin's excellent blog "6 years in a rain cape." Joe was a professional bicycle racer
during the 1990's and is a really great storyteller and writer.

Garage:  Reinventing the Place We Park  by Kira Obolensky
A snapshot of the american garage culture circa 1998. I get a page in the middle of this.  My friends Ross Shafer and Diana Phillips also get
some ink.  Buy this book!

Some photos and a very-shortened version of an article I wrote about a
Strosek Ultra are on p. 36 of the February 2009 issue of
Thoroughbred & Classic Cars Magazine!

One of my "finds" was the "star find" in the April 2008 issue of "
Thoroughbred and Classic Cars" magazine, p. 116.  It's something I spotted
while at the Maverick's Big Wave competition in the spring...

Some of my May 2007 photos are published on p. 131 of the September 2007 Issue of
Thoroughbred & Classic Cars Magazine.

Tete-a-tete rocking chair designed by my friend Thomas Oliphant.  In 1999, he, I and his then-assistant Noah Wilson and the genius painter,
Mark Leonardson of Minnetonka MN (send me an email for his contact info-- he's just an unbelievable painter/prototyper), created the
tete-a-tete rocking chair that Tom's pictured sitting in.  It's made from titanium, carbon fiber and teak.  In some design books, it's described
as being from Stainless steel, since I think Tom wanted to make production of multiples easier.  See in-process pictures of the prototype
elsewhere on this site.  As a
student project at the University of Minnesota, Stacie Depner, Jake Levine and I designed and built a full-scale
folding prototype of this chair.

More to come soon...
