These are some of my publishable projects.


2000 really marks the beginning of me learning to apply user-centered design principles in a disciplined way.

2000:  My first IDEO project. I worked with a team resolving some complex design and manufacturing issues for the Personal Valet system for Whirlpool
Inc.  At this point in time, this device was a large cabinet, rather than the collapsible device presently on the Whirlpool website.  There were several
versions, ranging from a large plastic cabinet, to devices with mirrored or veneered doors...

2000-01:  IDEO. I led the development of a then-revolutionary, small laptop worktable/paper storage cabinet (taboret), as part of an office furniture system
concept for the japanese market for Steelcase.  During this, I got to work in Tokyo with
Naoto Fukasawa and Takeshi Ishiguro for a bit.  Unfortunately, the
system concepts never made it to market.  Also unfortunately, I did not archive photos of this very well!..  I need to unearth the pictures.

2000: IDEO. I worked with a team on the design of the brivo smartbox for unattended home delivery of packages.  The idea was to create a safe place for
American commuters to have the goods that they'd ordered online delivered to their homes.  The box size was picked so that an iMac would fit into it.  At
the time, secure delivery of goods ordered online to suburban american homes was the missing link in the fulfillment chain for the nascent concept of
eCommerce.  Brivo's big idea turned out to be access and control.
