Mark Zeh: some past (public) work
Most of my work and clients are confidential.  Here are a few of the things that made it to market...

Underlying all of this work is an innovation process based on insights derived from user research conducted with multi-disciplinary teams.
These insights were synthesized by discovering unmet emotional and physical needs, then combining these discoveries with marketing
knowledge, business aims and technical feasibility.

2006-2007: IDEO Munich. Provided manufacturing support and program planning support for the Gibco division of Invitrogen, during IDEO's new
packaging design and launch work.

2007:  IDEO Europe.  Worked with a global team of IDEO industrial designers (Pontus Wahlgren and Volker Roos) and the Navman Marketing, Design and
Manufacturing team to formalize the design of their
S-series handheld navigation devices.

2004-2006:  IDEO Munich.  Led a large global team of designers, engineers and manufacturing partners in the design and launch of the Purair toilets for
Villeroy & Boch, a manufacturer of premium Bathroom, Spa and Kitchenware products.

End of 2003: IDEO Palo Alto. Worked with a team designing a suite of teleconferencing products for Lifesize.  Worked with Branko Lukic and John Smith,
Industrial Designers, to design this
high-definition teleconferencing phone.

2003: IDEO Palo Alto. Managed a team (Human Factors researcher, 2 Industrial Designers (John Smith and Markus Diebel), 2 Mechanical Engineers,
Manufacturing Engineer) working out some OTC Consumer Health concepts (with the client team) for
Pfizer Consumer Healthcare (now J&J).  The
PocketMist product came out of this work.

2003: IDEO Palo Alto. Helped out with the surface CAD and prototyping of this Maxtor One Touch External Hard drive.  Computer equipment being what it
is, it's no longer available from
Maxtor...

2003: IDEO Palo Alto. Managed a short project for the industrial design of the RevMaster Pilot cadence meter for LeMond Fitness Inc.

2003: IDEO Palo Alto. Worked with a team on the Polyvision LTX laser-tracking interactive whiteboard.  Design responsibilities were structural design
(shared with another engineer), then also troubleshooting and engineering review of the product.  Also conducted engineering design reviews for the
re-design of the
Polyvision TS interactive whiteboard, redesign of some mechanical aspects of the CopyCam and led design and managed the program
for a prototype
power and data track system, to enable these boards to be mounted over static boards in an educational setting.

2003:  IDEO Palo Alto. Conducted research with a team, then led the engineering and technical ideation for new plastic and stainless steel trash cans, in
various sizes, for
OXO International.  Innovations included a new bag retention device, a cleverly-integrated carrying handle, and damped
opening/closing, to make the lid motion smooth on the steel cans.  OXO's brand is all about innovation inspired from user needs.
