1999: This is probably my favorite project ever-- the tete-a-tete rocking chair for Thomas Oliphant Studios. I mention this in another place on this site, but here are some pictures of it being built in his studio and at the "Zeh Industrial Complex." Tom had made several prototypes of this in the past, but they were large and heavy. He and I decided to interpret this as an "outdoor-modern-lightweight" version in carbon fiber, titanium and teak. It's really light, flexible and breaks down into two identical pieces. He, I, his then-assistant, Noah Wilson and my brilliant painter, Mark Leonardson made this a reality. Lots of design work, tricky fabrication problems and difficult kinetic problems to resolve! It's been featured in design books and shows.
